Leveling in Dungeons and Dragons Online can be a bit tedious and you will have to run the same instances quite a few times when leveling. Especially on TR (True Reincarnation ) Characters that require more experience points to level up. There are quite a few ways to speed up the leveling process though and in this guide I will show you all the possible ways to increase XP gain through Potions, Tomes, Bonus Xp weekends amongst other things.
Dungeon Bonus XP
These bonuses are the most common XP bonuses and you will almost always gain get one or two when running a quest. Examples of these are The Aggression bonus where you get a 10% bonus for killing a certain number of mobs in an instance or the Ransack bonus which gives you 15% bonus for smashing a lot of objects in the instance. Most of the time these are more effort than what they are worth, so I usually don’t pay much attention to these unless I know that a certain bonus in a certain instance is worth the trouble.
You will also gain a first time bonus when doing a quest for the first time. The amount is determined by the difficulty you are running the quest on.
Bravery and Steak XP Bonus
These bonuses were introduced with update 11 to encourage players to play different quests on harder difficulties than normal.
Bravery bonus is awarded if you are doing the quest for the first time and you chose to do it on Hard (10% bonus) or Elite (20% bonus).
Streak bonuses give a 5% bonus on hard and a 10% bonus on elite. But can stack up to five times.
Bravery and Steak bonuses stack and they stack with first time up to a total of 75% on hard and 150% on elite.
Bonus XP Potions and Tomes
Bonus XP potions can be bought from the DDO store and come in six different varieties. These can be used to gain a XP bonus for a set amount of time. The different potions are :
Lesser Experience Elixir
10% bonus to XP for 3 hours
Medium Experience Elixir1
10% bonus to XP for 6 hours
Greater Experience Elixir
20% bonus to XP for 3 hours.
Major Experience Elixir1
20% bonus to XP for 6 hours.
Excellent Experience Elixir
30% bonus to XP for 3 hours.
Superior Experience Elixir
30% bonus to XP for 6 hours.
Tomes can also be purchased through the DDO store. These work much like the Potions only they are permanent. Meaning a 25% or 50% bonus for ever on that character. The two tomes are :
- Lesser Tome of Learning: +25% permanent XP bonus the first time doing a quest. +10% permanent XP bonus for each additional completion of the quest.
- Greater Tome of Learning: +50% permanent XP bonus the first time doing a quest. +20% permanent XP bonus for each additional completion of the quest.
Bonus Experience Weekends
Bonus XP weekends come along in DDO once in a while and you will be awarded with around 20% bonus to XP for the whole weekend. This bonus stacks with all other bonuses.
For the fastest leveling in DDO, I suggest you stack up on as many of these bonuses as possible. Having many XP bonuses can easily cut your leveling time in half and make leveling much more enjoyable especially when doing TR runs.
