Review : Mmorpg Multiboxing Must have! Razer Nostromo Keypad

The Razer Nostromo is basically an extension of your keyboard, complete with extra buttons, a scroll wheel, a D-pad and a few other goodies that will enhance your MMO experience, especially when Multiboxing.

Features of the Nostromo (Taken from the Razer site)

  • Ergonomic form factor and tournament-grade layout
  • 16 fully programmable Hyperesponse keys
  • Programmable eight-way directional thumb pad and scroll wheel (can be used as keys)
  • Instantaneous switching between eight key maps
  • Unlimited macro lengths (this is really cool)
  • Storage of up to 20 different game profiles
  • Adjustable soft-touch wrist pad for exceptional comfort
  • Backlit keypad and scroll wheel for total control, even in dark conditions
  • Enhanced Razer configurator software
  • Works with Mac or PC

Multiboxing in any Mmo, whether it be WoW, Everquest or Guild Wars, having the right equipment can make or break your game quite literary. Without the right software (I use pwnboxer) you won’t get far, especially on high end content where the wrong click of a button can be fatal. But hardware is also very important and get improve your game tremendously. I used to multibox (up to 5 box) on a single keyboard before I got the Razer Nostromo, but I fortunately found one of these under the Christmas tree this year. And boy did it make a difference. The Nostromo is the difference between wiping and not wiping in many instances, and the difference between a defeat and a win in arena matches and pvp. It has enough buttons to actually control several characters if you have multiboxing software set up, by freeing up space on your keyboard. read more

DDO : Battle Cleric Solo Build

Solo capability in DDO is much determined by build. And the Battle Cleric has been a favorite amongst players. The Battle Cleric is a Cleric that can do melee damage and take a beating. Clerics are good for soloing because of their healing skills and buffs and they fact that they can wear plate armor, all this makes them pretty durable. Giving them melee capabilities is done through giving them high STR and giving them melee feats ( Bastard Sword Khopesh Proficiency being the most important). The build below is a pure cleric build with high STR and Khopesh Proficiency but you can also multiclass a 1 or 2 levels into a melee class like fighter, rogue or monk if you want.

This build is made to solo fast and well all through the game, but feel free to modify it to your liking and playstyle. Getting 2 fighter levels might also be a good choice.

DDO Leveling : Guide to Bonus XP and Faster Leveling

Leveling in Dungeons and Dragons Online can be a bit tedious and you will have to run the same instances quite a few times when leveling. Especially on TR (True Reincarnation ) Characters that require more experience points to level up. There are quite a few ways to speed up the leveling process though and in this guide I will show you all the possible ways to increase XP gain through Potions, Tomes, Bonus Xp weekends amongst other things.

Dungeon Bonus XP

These bonuses are the most common XP bonuses and you will almost always gain get one or two when running a quest. Examples of these are The Aggression bonus where you get a 10% bonus for killing a certain number of mobs in an instance or the Ransack bonus which gives you 15% bonus for smashing a lot of objects in the instance. Most of the time these are more effort than what they are worth, so I usually don’t pay much attention to these unless I know that a certain bonus in a certain instance is worth the trouble. read more

Warforged Wizard 18 / Rogue 2 – Best DDO Solo Build

The Warforged Wiz 18 / Rog 2 build is one of the most efficient and fun solo builds for DDO. Combining the toughness and survivability of the Warforged, with the DPS of the Wizard and the utility skills of the Rogue. This build will make it possible to solo a lot of the game that other classes and builds can only dream of. This build is excellent even with a 28pt build but a 32pt build is recommended.

The Warforged races are naturally strong and durable so even though you are a Wizard you will be able to take some damage. And deal some damage Melee in the beginning. Start out by using a high damage two handed weapon, like a Falcion, Great Axe or a Great Sword. Before you get high damage spells this will enable you to plow through the first couple of levels anyway. If you got some gold to spend, invest in a good weapon. You will also be able to self heal because of the Repair line of spells. Repair spells are like heals that only work on Warforged, making the Wizard / Warforged combo extremely durable.

Getting one or two Rogue levels is also vital to soloing efficiently. Being able to disarm traps and having the Rogues utility skills, saves a lot of time, health and makes the soloing experience easier.

The Wizard class is a powerful spellcasting class. You will be able to do high amounts of damage. Both AOE and DD spells make sure you can handle any mob or group of mobs.  In addition you have repair spells and buffs to help you survive tough encounters. Some spells will make a lot of difference when you get them. Like the Wall of Fire spell that you will get at Wizard level 7. This AOE fire damage spell will make almost any instance a walk in the park so after getting it, leveling will be quick.

DDO : 3 Good Solo / Leveling Class / Build

With DDO there are literary unlimited possibilities when it comes to class, race, feats, skills and builds. It all comes down to preferences and playstyle in the end. But if you are looking for a strong solo / leveling class build for DDO, here are some suggestions:

Warforged Wizard / Sorcerer ( Optionally multiclassed with 1 or 2 Rogue levels)

Going either Wizard or Sorcerer with a Warforged will give you very high survivability mixed with very high DPS. A very good combination for leveling. With the Repair line of spells you can even heal yourself as a Warforged, and when you  get the Wall of Fire spell at level 7wiz / 8 sorc you will be a killing machine, quite literary. read more

DDO Plat Guide : Kobolds’ New Ringleader

The Kobolds’ New Ringleader is a quest offered by guard Jung in the harbor.  After accepting the quest you will enter Bonebites hideout right in the alley next to guard Jung.  The quest is classified as long but it is rather quick, especially if you’re about level two.  Doing the quest on elite will give you the best rewards but any of the difficulty tiers will give you good rewards.

The reason why this quest is good for making money is because there are a lot of chests and most importantly a ton of collectible items that you can sell on the auction house read more

DDO : How to Acquire Muckbane Guide

Muckbane is an extremely valuable and useful weapon for players in DDO.  Muckbane is a club that cannot be destroyed when fighting oozes and slimes, this is very useful because normal weapons will be destroyed very easily by oozes and you will be left with no weapon in the middle of a dungeon.  If you have Muckbane you can simply switch over to using that and your weapon won’t be damaged or destroyed.  This can also be used as a platinum guide as Muckbane can fetch up to and probably more than 20,000 Platinum. read more

When you exit you will be on Korthos, this area should be skipped unless you are playing on a f2p account as the quests in Stormreach offers better experience. Talk to Valeria Sinderwind on the docs to leave Korthos.
