>> MOD 16 UNDERMOUNTAIN CLERIC DEVOUT HEALING CAN BE FOUND HERE <<

Welcome to our Devoted Cleric Guide, updated for the Heart of Fire, mod 15. In this guide, we will give you tips and info on how to play the Devoted Cleric class.

The Devoted Cleric is pretty versatile for a healer and have quite a few utility skills and when soloing they can do quite a good amount of damage. For grouping, you want to focus on debuffing/buffing and healing.

As of mod 15, DO Devoted Clerics were made to be more of a DPS class, while AC Devoted Clerics are are buffers and healers. This Devoted Cleric build will cover both choices and you can have a loadout for each if you want.

The purpose of our class guides is not just to show you a build that you can copy and use on your character, but to show you a base build and teach you the mechanics and stats of the game, so you can understand and play your class to its fullest capabilities. Try different gear, feats and powers and learn to tailor your own build for your playstyle. See our guide to making your own build for more info.

Basic Devoted Cleric Info

Best Races as a Devoted Cleric

The below options are the best choices for a Devoted Cleric. In the end, it’s not much of a difference, which one you choose.

  • Dragonborn: +2 to any stats. Dragon Heritage (5% extra healing from spells and abilities). Dragonborn Fury (3% extra power and crit).
  • Human: +2 to any stats. Versatile Defense (3% extra defense). Heroic Effort (3 extra heroic feats).
  • Sun Elf: +2 INT, +2 CHA/DEX. Inner Calm (3% action point gain). Sun Elf Grace (10% Control Resist)

Devoted Cleric Attribute / Ability Score Priority

  •  Wisdom > Charisma > Strenght

Devoted Cleric Rating / Stat Priority

For stats in Neverwinter, aim to hit the hard/soft cap of your primary stat, then secondary and so forth. Try not to waste stats by going over the caps, and instead start gearing towards another stat.

  • Power > Recovery (Softcapped at around 30k) >Crit (Caps at 100%) > Defense (Caps Damage Resistance at 95%) > Armor Penetration (Cap Resistance Ignored at 100%)

Devoted Cleric Enchantments

When getting enchantments, always get the ones with the stats you are lacking in with your gear, boons, etc in mind. For example, if you’ve capped Crit with your gear and boons, don’t get azure enchantments for your offense slots. If you still need to refine your enchantments, see our Refinement Guide for tips on how to farm refinement.

Armor Enchantments:

  • Barkshield or Negation Enchantment

Weapon Enchantments:

  • Plaguefire / Frost / Feyfouched Enchantment (DO)

Offense Enchantments:

  • Radiant  Enchantments

Defense Enchantments:

  • Black Ice Enchantments

Utility Enchantments:

Dragon’s Hoard x2 + QuartmasterX2 + 1 Fey Blessing or Dark Enchantments

Overload Enchantments:

  • Corrupted Black Ice > White Dragon Glyph

Armor Reinforcement Kits:

Generally, pick the armor kits for the stats you are lacking in.

  • Recovery Armor Kit or Power Armor Kit

Jewelry Reinforcement Kits:

  • Action Point Gain

Devoted Cleric Consumables & Buffs

Consider to get VIP for the Power of VIP HP buff if you aren’t already. Also always stand in campfires to get the +1 ability campfire buff.

Get one from each of the rows below:

  • Empowered Chain of Scales (Best in Slot) > Adorable Pocket Pet > Tymora’s Lucky Coin
  • Any Power Potion
  • Watermelot Sorbet

Devoted Cleric Companions

The best companions for Devoted Clerics are:

  • Summoned Companion: Con Artist
  • Active Companions: Deepcrow Hatchling – Skeleton – Archmage’s Apprentice – Ghost

Companion Gear

For the companion gear from Illusionist’s Gambit, the +4 rings are actually better than the +5 as they have two offensive/defensive enchantment slots and the +5 has an overload slot.

  • Fierce/Heroic/Sturdy – Belt/Ring/Neck/ Gear of the Companion
  • Masterwork Rings
  • +4/+5 Rings

Companion Runestones: Bonding Runestones

Companion Enchantments: Silvery Enchantments

Devoted Cleric Mounts

When choosing a Legendary Mount for the Mount Powers, look for a mount that has both a useful equip and combat power. The best choices for a first legendary mount as a Devoted Cleric are is a Commander Tyrannosaur or any 4000 Power Mount

What other mounts you use is not that important. What is important is to get the right insignia bonuses, and many different mounts can offer the various bonuses. To find out what mount has the bonus you want, check out our Insignia Bonus Guide.

All classes and specs should consider using Wanderer’s Fortune before you have refined all your gear and enchantments, for extra refinement every day.

The Best Devoted Cleric Insignia Bonuses:

  •  Assassin’s Covenant– Gladiator’s Guile – Artificers Influence –  Shepard’s Devotion  – Artificer’s Persuasion

Insignia Type:

  • Dominance or Brutal depending on what you need.

Devoted Cleric Mount Powers :

When choosing a mount power it is also smart to choose the stats you are lacking in from other gear.

    • Mount Equip Power: Dominant Force (4000 power)
  • Mount Combat Power:  Commander Tyrannosaurus Rex’em.

Nice bold guide, however I feel that this guide is better suited to the ACDC build. A DODC should use Black Ice enchants in every slot, because they have a more offensive role in the group. Recovery is not as important as crit and armour pen, unlike the AC build, who should stack cruels for as much power and recovery possible let to double stack AA buff.

When can we expect an updated version for mod15??

  • The Complete Devoted Cleric Guide has been updated for mod 15, the Heart of Fire!

  • Whoever wrote this guide is clueless on how to build an ACDC. No Blessing of Battle, Decaying Habit, Guise of the Wolf Clan and Rex Corona are all better than the Ravenloft headpiece. Executioners Braces are better for max power share from the start, but vivified Primal Restoration are better for prolonged fights. I could go on but I won’t. The DODC build is COMPLETELY different in every way to the ACDC. Whoever wrote this joke of a guide doesn’t know the first thing about either. SMH

    • What do you mean no Blessing of Battle? It’s right there. I don’t think you’ve even read the guide.
Guise of the Wolf Clan and Rex Corona isn’t mentioned since Decaying Habit is easy to obtain, and we only list 2-3 items for each slot.
I’ve changed so that Exectutioners shows as best in slot along with Faithlords.
Litterally every other mod 14 and 15 DC build on MMOMinds and everywhere else shows pretty much the same gear as listed in this guide.

The problem with most of these guides is their just inaccurate and not updated. However, I’m sorry to say this had to be one of the most inaccurate ones I’ve ever read in my opinion.
I don’t think there is a single section you got right there.
Section by section: Class dragonborn best indefinately – wrong suggestion. Ability Score – score suggestion. Stats Prioritize – wrong suggestion (no cap on recovery). The build itself (feats) are ok. Boons I didn’t even check. Gear – Wrong headpeice, gloves, neck&waist, shirt and pants – all wrong. Artifacts – you got all of them wrong, main and seconderies. Weapon Enchantment – wrong. Offense enchantments is only radiants.Utility best used for Dark, as DCs we don’t kill anything anyway. Power kits on all gear.
Companions – wrong summoned and active companion. Wrong insigna bonus suggestions.
That’s all the wrong suggestions in this build in my opinon.

Here is my help text file I send for friends and guildies. Hope this helps.

AC DC PVE Help post :

    Class: Dragonborn (normal or Metallic)

Main stat rolls: CHA and INT

Stats to priortizy: Power (on self), Recovery (mainly on comp).

    Feats:
Heroics: Toughness 3/3, Healing Action 5/5, Domain Synergy 5/5, Repurpose Soul 2/3 (not really relevant can chose crit or other things), Bountiful Fortune 5/5
Paragon: Rightous path – Furious Interventions 5/5, Ancient Warding 5/5, Weapons of Light 5/5, Bear Your Sins 5/5, Condeming Gaze 5/5, Avatar 1/1 Capstone
Virtous Path – Lasting Wishes 5/5, Battle Fervor 5/5, Gift of Haste 5/5

    Powers:
At wills – Blessing of Battle (main one), Astral Seal
Encounter – Divine Glow, Exaltation (when empowered bigger buff), BTS (always empowered)
Dailies – AA (always try to use before start combat and before Companion Gift proc), HG (without DO)
Personal – Hastening Light, Holy Fervor

    Gear:
Weapons – +1 or normal Exlated Feather Teotlanextli. Artifacts Powers – Astral Seal and Hastening Light + AP gain.
Head – Decaying Habit for most runs (unless your boss fights are longer than 3 minutes then use Rex Corona).
    Armor – Faithlord’s Restoration Chasuble
    Arms – The executioner’s Bracers
    Legs – Faithlord’s Restoation Igaches
    Rings – Gravestriker +4/+5 rings
Neck – +1 or normal Fanged Beaded Amulet
Waist – +1 or normal Beaded Sash (there are better power share options but the recovery, AP gain, 2 CHA, 2 INT is too much to give on)
Shirt – Preplate’s Gemmed Exquisite Elemental Chainmail
    Pants – Admitine Chauses

    Artifacts:
Main – Hear of the Red Dragon/Heart of the Black Dragon for mobs. For boss DC sigil or a if running with 2 DCs debuff artifact preferably with power (Charm or Thirst)
Secondary – Tome of Ascendacy, Symbol of Fire, Empowered Illusionist mask. There are few other valiable options like Symbol of Air or DC sigil.

    Boons:
I’m not gonna list all of them. Your priority is Power (also defensive stats help also cause of Assasins Coveneant – so for example from SH take defense boon and not HP), recovery, AP gain.

    Companions:
Summoned – Con Artist / Harper Bard. Con Artist has a stronger debuff (10%) but debuffs have diminishing return while Harper Bard always buffs 800 power and crit to everyone around which goes to companions as well, but his debuff is only 8% and this is only once the mobs/boss drops below 50%.
It’s a hard comparrision I personally use Con Artist mostly.
Active – Power companions – Deep Crow Hatchling, Skeleted, Archmage Apprentice, Ghost

    Mounts:
4k Power/Snail – Again hard comparission. For 2 DC runs always use 4k power but for single DC runs its a close call from my testings.
Trex as combat power for his debuff.

Insigna bonuses – Artificers Persuasion, Artificers Influence, Assassins Covenant, Sheperds Devotion, Gladiator Guile (can switch for 2nd Assasins Covenant in CoDG)
    Use brutal/dominance epic insignas.

    Enchantments:
Radiants in offensive slots, black ice in defenisve slots, Dark in utility slot, Lesser/Greater Corrupt Black Ice in overlord slots, Bonding and Silveries on companion.
Weapon enchantment – Plaguefire, since it has a DoT it procs also the Bear Your Sins debuff of the DC. If you don’t run plaguefire you might want a bit extra crit and run one point in the feat Fire of The Gods 1/5 instead of 1 point in Gift of Haste 4/5 so when you crit it will proc the debuff of Bear Your Sins as well.
    Armor enchantment – Barkshield

    MUSTS:
Mask of Lurue and Bottomless Waterskins

(all is personal opinion after testing and running almost everything)

    I posted a comment and it didn’t get approved I guess ?
The problem there are so many online guides that are simply wrong and everyone copy from one another. The guide is in my opinion, the worse I’ve read in a while. Almost no tip that you gave is correct and I can just count few tips of all section which are correct, the rest is simple bad or wrong suggestions in my opinion.
The few things that you got right: Skills to use. the feats tree is alright only 1 small mistake there. Boons (didnt check them). From all the gear suggestions only Weapons and Rings is accurate. Armor and Defense enchants are correct rest enchantments wrong. Legendary mount suggestion is correct.
All other things in this guide are simply wrong.
I posted my suggestions in the other posts that wasn’t approved.

If you think you know so much about how to build DC then why are you even reading this to begin with? Sounds to me like kinda baby’s that just like acting like they know everything and are better than everyone else lol. The one person said everything was wrong then wrote their version and it’s exactly the same. Complain just to complain
