Beginner’s Sorcerer Stamina DPS Build for The Elder Scrolls Online

Welcome to the Beginner’s Sorcerer Stamina DPS Build/Guide for Elder Scrolls Online (ESO). This guide will teach you the basics of building a Sorcerer Stamina DPS and provide you with the necessary tools to start your journey as a powerful damage dealer in ESO.

This build is designed for players new to the damage dealing role and focuses on damage output, resource management, and easy gear acquisition.

Race Selection:

While any race can be a Sorcerer Stamina DPS, the following races have passives that make them more suitable for the role:

  • Redguard: Max Stamina, Stamina Recovery, and Cost Reduction
  • Orc: Max Stamina, Max Health, and Weapon Damage
  • Wood Elf: Max Stamina, Stamina Recovery, and Stealth Detection

Attribute Points:

Allocate all 64 points into Stamina to maximize damage output. This can be changed later as you adapt and get better gear and stats.

Mundus Stone:

  • The Warrior (Weapon Damage) or The Thief (Weapon Critical)

Food and Potions:

  • Food: Bi-stat food (Max Health and Stamina) or Tri-stat food (Max Health, Magicka, and Stamina)
  • Potions: Weapon Power potions or basic stamina potions

Skills:

The skill setup for a beginner Sorcerer Stamina DPS is as follows:

Bar 1 – Dual Wield:

  1. Rending Slashes – Morph from Twin Slashes
  2. Rapid Strikes – Morph from Flurry
  3. Bloodthirst – Morph from Flurry
  4. Deadly Cloak – Morph from Blade Cloak
  5. Bound Armaments – Morph from Bound Armor Ultimate: Flawless Dawnbreaker – Morph from Dawnbreaker

Bar 2 – Bow:

  1. Endless Hail – Morph from Volley
  2. Poison Injection – Morph from Poison Arrow
  3. Hurricane – Morph from Lightning Form
  4. Rearming Trap – Morph from Trap Beast
  5. Critical Surge – Morph from Surge Ultimate: Ballista – Morph from Rapid Fire

Champion Points:

As a beginner, focus on the following CP allocation to improve your DPS abilities. Keep in mind that these allocations may change as you progress and experiment with different playstyles. Note that the CP cap is 3600, but this guide assumes you have 1800 CP available.

Craft (Green):

  • Slot 1: Steed’s Blessing – 50 points
  • Slot 2: Breakfall – 50 points
  • Slot 3: Wanderer – 50 points

Warfare (Red):

  • Slot 1: Precision – 50 points
  • Slot 2: Piercing – 50 points
  • Slot 3: Fighting Finesse – 50 points
  • Slot 4: Deadly Aim – 50 points (Slot Unlock at 1200 CP)
  • Slot 5: Thaumaturge – 50 points (Slot Unlock at 1800 CP)

Spend remaining points in:

  • Master-at-Arms (up to 50 points)
  • Quick Recovery (up to 50 points)
  • Elemental Aegis (up to 50 points)
  • Hardy (up to 50 points)

Fitness (Blue):

  • Slot 1: Tumbling – 50 points
  • Slot 2: Mystic Tenacity – 50 points
  • Slot 3: Hero’s Vigor – 50 points
  • Slot 4: Defiance – 50 points (Slot Unlock at 1200 CP)
  • Slot 5: Hasty – 50 points (Slot Unlock at 1800 CP)

Spend remaining points in:

  • Sprinter (up to 50 points)
  • Tireless Discipline (up to 50 points)
  • Relentless Focus (up to 50 points)
  • Fortification (up to 50 points)
  • Piercing Gaze (up to 50 points)

Remember that the Champion Points system is flexible, and you can redistribute your points as you gain more experience and adapt to different situations. The allocation provided here is a starting point for a beginner Sorcerer Stamina DPS, and you should feel free to experiment with other allocations as you progress through the game.

Passives:

  • Dual Wield: All passives
  • Bow: All passives
  • Medium Armor: All passives
  • Light Armor: Recovery and Evocation passives
  • Heavy Armor: Juggernaut passive
  • Sorcerer: All passives in Storm Calling and Daedric Summoning (excluding the pets)
  • Fighters Guild: Slayer, Banish the Wicked, and Skilled Tracker passives
  • Undaunted: Undaunted Command and Undaunted Mettle
  • Racial: All passives for your chosen race

Gear:

As a beginner, your priority should be to acquire easy-to-obtain gear that provides good bonuses. Here’s a beginner-friendly gear setup:

  • 5x Hunding’s Rage (Crafted set, requires 6 traits researched)
  • 5x Spriggan’s Thorns (Bangkorai overland or Guild Traders)
  • 2x Monster Set: Selene (Selene’s Web dungeon) or Stormfist (Tempest Island dungeon)

Traits and Enchantments:

  • Armor: Divines on all pieces with Stamina enchantments
  • Weapons:
    • Dual Wield: Precise or Sharpened with Weapon Damage and Absorb Stamina enchantments
    • Bow: Infused with Weapon Damage enchantment
  • Jewelry: Robust or Infused with Weapon Damage or Stamina Recovery enchantments

I think stormfist is bad set for stam dps, coz of CP(Mighty). Electric damage is for mages, stamina character must have phys, poison, desease damage. Velidreth, Selen etc. Also Rele and Tooth gives minor slayer both, so 1 stat useless. Maybe 2 daggers is good for khajit, but axe on mainhand can give a bit more dps.
