Warforged Wizard 18 / Rogue 2 – Best DDO Solo Build

The Warforged Wiz 18 / Rog 2 build is one of the most efficient and fun solo builds for DDO. Combining the toughness and survivability of the Warforged, with the DPS of the Wizard and the utility skills of the Rogue. This build will make it possible to solo a lot of the game that other classes and builds can only dream of. This build is excellent even with a 28pt build but a 32pt build is recommended.

The Warforged races are naturally strong and durable so even though you are a Wizard you will be able to take some damage. And deal some damage Melee in the beginning. Start out by using a high damage two handed weapon, like a Falcion, Great Axe or a Great Sword. Before you get high damage spells this will enable you to plow through the first couple of levels anyway. If you got some gold to spend, invest in a good weapon. You will also be able to self heal because of the Repair line of spells. Repair spells are like heals that only work on Warforged, making the Wizard / Warforged combo extremely durable.

Getting one or two Rogue levels is also vital to soloing efficiently. Being able to disarm traps and having the Rogues utility skills, saves a lot of time, health and makes the soloing experience easier.

The Wizard class is a powerful spellcasting class. You will be able to do high amounts of damage. Both AOE and DD spells make sure you can handle any mob or group of mobs.  In addition you have repair spells and buffs to help you survive tough encounters. Some spells will make a lot of difference when you get them. Like the Wall of Fire spell that you will get at Wizard level 7. This AOE fire damage spell will make almost any instance a walk in the park so after getting it, leveling will be quick.

I'm fairly new to DDO but 1 question i do have since none of the multi-class guide note this. which class should you create your character as to start. For the wizard / rogue should you create it as a rogue then multi-class in to wiz or wizard and multi- into rogue. i ask becuase i see open locks as a starting skill but don't see the option when creating a wizard build.

This build is crazy good! I can 1 (or 2) shot so many threats at extreme range. It's a breeze compared to leveling that cleric or rogue/ranger to 20. Massive AoE or DD combined with self healing.

I know this is an old post, but what spells should I take

UMD is high to use a variety of race- or class-only items. For example, you may find a hat usable by elves only and you are not an elf.

Also, why is the Rogue2 level taken at level 10 when Evasion is so good to have?

How does this build compare with a Paladin2/Sorcerer18 for soloing?

The reason for the delay in rouge lev is as follows. 1 You need to get your firewall as quickly as possible. 2. by delaying rouge until later you get the extra skill points to round out your toon (pump search, disable, spot ect to max so you don't have issues with end lev stuff) 3. At about lev 10, is when you will begin to be 1 shot killed on a trap even if you do save for the 1/2 damage.
